When your application is approved and
you agree to move ahead with the gas line
installation, you will need to indicate the
location of underground facilities on your
property, such as sprinklers, invisible pet
fences and, electric or water lines running
to outbuildings.
On our side, we’ll prepare the design
drawings (you may see our representative taking
measurements on your property), obtain the
necessary street opening permits, and coordinate
with the State’s Call
Before You Dig call
center to arrange for a technician to come
out to locate and mark your underground utilities
as part of the New Jersey's damage
prevention laws.
Throughout this process, your SJG representative
will contact you with updates.
Once the permits are in hand, we’ll
install your natural gas service and activate
your meter.
That’s it! You’re now an SJG
