What is the Conservation Incentive Program?
The Conservation Incentive Program is a BPU-approved, innovative conservation and energy efficiency program implemented by South Jersey Gas to assist consumers in managing their energy bills.

What are the benefits?
Customers directly benefit from lower heating bills to the extent that they individually implement conservation measures and reduce their usage. Reducing consumption also sends an economic signal nationwide for natural gas producers to maintain lower commodity prices.

When did it go into effect?
CIP originally began as a 3-year pilot program on October 1, 2006. It has since been extended to run through 2014.
