Essay Contest
"How and Why My Family Practices Energy Efficiency"

This summer, South Jersey Gas is holding an
essay contest exclusively for the children of our Energy Savings
Club members describing how and why your family implements energy
efficiency measures in your home.
With the arrival of summer, SJG wants to remind
you about the importance of implementing energy efficient measures
to help save on your monthly energy bills and improve the environment.
As a valued member, you have access to a variety
of special offers and tips to help reduce your energy costs while
still keeping comfortable.
SJG understands that using energy more efficiently
requires the assistance from everyone in the entire household – from
turning off lights, to cooking outside to washing clothes in
cold water – and, we want to know about it.
The winner will receive a $100 American Express gift card and
have their essay along with photo displayed on the SJG Web site.
| Contest eligibility and rules are
as follows: |

Entry is open to all
students ages 12 to 17. |
| 2. |
Essays must explain what your family
does to use energy efficiently and why. |
| 3. |
Finished essay must be between 300
and 500 words. |
| 4. |
12 point size font and double spacing
must be used. |
| 5. |
All entries become the property of
South Jersey Gas.
NO ENTRIES WILL BE RETURNED. |
| 6. |
Criteria for judging – writing
skills, creativity, originality and how well the essay
expresses the contest theme. |
| 7. |
Deadline – entries must be
received by 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 3, 2007.
