Muchos americanos son exactamente igual a usted, utilizan el calor del gas natural para calentar sus hogares y sus familias.

EPA is pleased to announce that the ENERGY STAR and Other Climate Protection Partnerships 2007 Annual Report can now be found on the EPA website. The report outlines the environmental and economic accomplishments of EPA's climate protection programs, including ENERGY STAR, in 2007 and outlines goals for the future. Highlights from the report include:

• Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR, saved about $16 billion dollars on their utility bills and avoided greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those from 27 million vehicles.

• Partners of EPA's Green Power Partnership and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Partnership purchased more than 11 billion kilowatt-hours of green power and have installed more than 4,450 megawatts of new CHP capacity.

• Climate Leaders, EPA's corporate commitment program, grew nearly 50% in 2007 to more than 150 partners, seven of whom have achieved in 2007 their aggressive greenhouse gas reduction targets set through the program.

• EPA's partners avoided emissions of methane and other potent greenhouse gases equivalent to those from more than 20 million vehicles and helped to keep U.S. emissions of these gases significantly below 1990 levels.

Living Wise Program for Area Schools a Success 6.12.08

South Jersey Gas is committed to promoting energy and resource conservation and through the recent completion of our Living Wise Program, we provided area students and their families with tips and resources to reduce their energy use.

The Living Wise Program, which was introduced in five area schools, including Millville, Bridgeton, Egg Harbor Township, Folsom, and Washington Township districts, provided 6th grade classes with Resource Action Kits. Used in conjunction with classroom activities and lessons, the resource kits allowed students, with the help of their parents and families, to perform home audits, retrofit their homes with easy to install conservation devices and learn about the importance of conservation. Armed with water saving shower heads and faucet aerators, compact fluorescent light bulbs and other conservation tools, students were able to track and reduce their family’s energy consumption.

The program was a hit, and we received tremendous feedback from the teachers whose classrooms participated.
