South Jersey Gas to Upgrade a Portion of Camden County System For Customer and Infrastructure Reliability

To ensure service reliability for customers in the region, South Jersey Gas received approval from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities to install a new distribution pipeline in a portion of Camden County. The five-mile system upgrade will improve the local distribution system enhancing the area’s infrastructure for years to come and also repurpose the existing smaller line. Without this work, local operating pressure in Camden and Burlington counties could become inadequate and result in customer outages in the region on peak demand days, the coldest days during the heating season.

New Jersey Board of Public Utilities President Richard S. Mroz and Ocean City Mayor Jay A. Gillian joined South Jersey Gas President Dave Robbins at 19th Street and Central Avenue in Ocean City to celebrate the successful conversion of the island’s natural gas distribution mains from a low-pressure to a high-pressure system. This upgrade is designed to fortify the utility’s system, better protecting service to residents against severe weather impacts such as those experienced during Superstorm Sandy.

South Jersey Gas cleans up beach with Marine Mammal Stranding Center, gives grant for education initiative

South Jersey Gas volunteers arrived at the beach in Brigantine ready to clean up litter — popped balloons, fishing wire, and other things that pose a threat to wildlife — with the Marine Mammal Stranding Center team. In addition to working side by side with the team, South Jersey Gas also provided a $5,000 grant to the center aimed at helping them expand the reach and impact of their education program.

Horseshoe crabs rescued along Cape May County beach through partnership between South Jersey Gas, The Wetlands Institute

During the summer along the Cape May County beach, thousands of horseshoe crabs get stranded on the hot sand when they come ashore to spawn. South Jersey Gas partnered with The Wetlands Institute to protect the horseshoe crabs, through volunteer work and a $6,500 grant.

South Jersey Gas Files To Reduce Rates For A Third Year

South Jersey Gas To Provide $8 Million Bill Credit to Customers

South Jersey Gas, a subsidiary of South Jersey Industries, Inc. (NYSE: SJI), is issuing a Basic Gas Supply Service (BGSS) bill credit to residential and small commercial customers totaling $8 million, primarily due to lower than anticipated wholesale gas costs.  The average residential heating customer who buys their natural gas from South Jersey Gas will receive a bill credit of approximately $22 over the next four to six weeks.

South Jersey Gas Presents Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company a $1,000 Grant
