Natural Gas Installation Steps

Please note that installation takes approximately 8-12 weeks.

Step 1

Apply online or, if you prefer to apply by phone, please call 1.800.822.9276.

Step 2

After we receive your application, we'll confirm that natural gas is available and contact you within 1-2 business days to explain next steps.

Step 3

You need to hire a heating & cooling contractor to install your heating system and/or natural gas appliances. For your convenience, a list of South Jersey Gas Participating Contractors is available for you. 

Step 4

We'll schedule an appointment with you to select a meter location at your home.

Step 5

All private and public utility lines must be “marked out”. Visit Utility Markouts page for more information. 

Step 6

Your service line and meter will be connected to your residence from the main pipeline on your street.
