If you are an existing South Jersey Gas customer, your natural gas service will continue uninterrupted during these projects. Project Purpose:
As South Jersey Gas continues to upgrade our natural gas infrastructure and increase system reliability, a planned construction project is scheduled to begin on or about May 12, 2025 in Washington Township. This important project will replace and improve an existing natural gas distribution main in Gloucester County.
This infrastructure improvement will allow South Jersey Gas to provide better system reliability, safety, and resiliency to the residents and businesses of Gloucester County. If you are an existing South Jersey Gas customer, your natural gas service will continue uninterrupted during this project. We thank you for your patience as our construction team works as efficiently and safely as possible to complete this project.
Construction Route:
The system upgrade will require temporary construction along the following roads:
- Greentree Rd (CR 651) between Hurffville-Cross Keys Rd and Pitman Downer Rd. (estimated May-June 2025)
- Hurffville-Cross Keys Rd (CR 654) between Rt. 47 and Greentree Rd. (estimated July - August 2025)
- Pitman Downer Rd (CR 658) between Chapel Heights Rd and Greentree Rd (date TBD)
Construction will occur in phases to limit the area of disturbance at any given time.

- Route 9 between Woodbine-Ocean View Rd (CR 550) and Avalon Blvd (CR 601)
